Children’s Books

The Alfred Reading Series (Narrated) - Gabriel Dumont Institute

These children’s books have proven to be one of the most popular resources produced by the Gabriel Dumont Institute. Written and illustrated by Darrell Pelletier, a graduate of the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program, the books originally appeared in English in 1992. Later, Michif, Cree and French editions were created. In 1998, a narration component entitled “Come and Read With Us” was released. In 2005, Michif-Cree speaker Bruce Flamont provided a new Michif-Cree translation and narration for these books.
